Web Content Management Solution
Background
Modernizing a Government Department’s Website for Improved Usability, Accessibility and Agility
Nexify was given the task of modernizing the homepage of a government department through responsive website design (RWD). The homepage serves as a platform for the department to disseminate information about itself and its initiatives to the public. The main challenge was to facilitate smooth content migration for over 6,000 web pages contributed by more than 60 content owners from various divisions. Additionally, the previous Web Content Management System (WCMS) needed to be replaced with a more agile solution capable of handling the substantial amount of content.
Solution
Streamlining the Conversion Process
To address the complexity of the website and the large volume of content, Nexify proposed replacing the homepage’s WCMS with TeamSite. This allowed the homepage support team to log into the system, create, update, and delete content, as well as generate and publish web pages to make them accessible to the public.

Nexify employed proprietary programs to convert individual pages from Documentum into TeamSite templates during the data conversion process. Once the content was converted, it was imported into TeamSite and validated with input from the department. A parallel run was conducted as a final usability test before the relaunch.

Result
A Sleeker, Highly Efficient User Interface
The implementation of the solution resulted in a sleeker and highly efficient user interface for the department’s homepage. The modernized look and agile design now accurately reflect the professional image of the department. The streamlined content publication process enables efficient and effective addition of information, while the improved and unified website design makes it easier for the public to find important information.
The redesigned website adheres to W3C WCAG 2.0 AA standards, ensuring compliance with web accessibility requirements for individuals with disabilities. Furthermore, the redesign is optimized for mobile devices, allowing the department’s homepage to reach a wider audience across different screen sizes.
