Case Management

Background

Tracking Cases with a Robust Web-based System to Increase the Efficiency of Case Examinations

The Independent Police Complaints Council (IPCC) faced a challenge of managing a growing volume of case information and the need to strengthen its research work. To address this, Nexify was enlisted to develop an Electronic Case Information Management System (ECIMS) that could efficiently handle data creation, storage, organization, retrieval, and manipulation. The new system was required to incorporate the existing system’s functions, enrich case details, and track case progress.

Solution

A secure web-accessible database with rich content management features

Nexify opted to build the ECIMS using web technology and integrated robust case and document management features with IBM Advanced Case Manager (ACM) and IBM FileNet enterprise content management solutions. This approach created a secure and well-controlled repository for storing case details and documents on behalf of the IPCC.

Results

A user-friendly, streamlined and scalable case management system

The implementation of the new ECIMS by Nexify resulted in a user-friendly, streamlined, and scalable case management system. The IPCC can now streamline the case examination process and facilitate efficient workflows. The centralized, paperless database enhanced security and enabled easier monitoring, advanced research, and data analysis.

With the new system, IPCC users can easily review case progress, and the automated case management process improves overall productivity. Crucial information needed for decision-making is readily available through simple searches, allowing users to make informed decisions about individual cases.
