Dream Big

The volunteer activity in collaboration with YMCA was successfully held.

In our society, many underprivileged children have limited opportunities to access technology due to their backgrounds or lack of resources. That’s why earlier, a group of our colleagues, together with YMCA instructors from the Kwun Tong branch, organized a workshop for over 30 underprivileged children. The workshop aimed to create an environmentally friendly and creative project: a unique touch-sensitive table lamp from scratch.

During the workshop, the children actively participated and eagerly raised their hands to answer questions. They utilized everyday materials such as plastic bottles, milk cartons, toilet paper rolls, and paper to unleash their boundless creativity. They added different colors, drew patterns, and wrote meaningful words, giving their self-assembled table lamps individual significance.

With the assistance of our volunteers and instructors, they used 3D-printed parts, development boards, and LED light strips. Together, they programmed the touch-sensitive switches into the development boards. Through collaboration and teamwork, they illuminated each dream-filled and unique table lamp, symbolizing a bright and hopeful journey for the children in their life paths. It was a heartwarming experience, allowing them to experience love and warmth.
